Welcome to Antonin Durand's website


I am a Postdoctoral research fellow and scientific coordinator of "Global" department of the French Institute of Migrations. I am also a member of the Institute of Modern and Contemporary History (ENS, Paris). I hold a PhD from the École pratique des Hautes études (EPHE, Paris) and the University of Bologna. My research deals with sciences, politics and the nation building in France and Italy during XIXth and XXth centuries. My PhD dissertation dealt with the involvement of some Italian mathematicians in politics around the unification of the country. I have also been a teaching assistant at the EPHE, and a teacher in high school.
