The pamela project homepageThis page is devoted to the pamela software project. Pamela (French acronym for a ``multispectral image analysis and processing algorithm testbed'') This software gathers most of my present researches on remote sensing using synthetic aperture radars (even though the software could also deal with airborne photos, or cartographic data): |
Synthetic Aperture Radar principleThis page explains the functionning principles of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and what are the operations carried out by the pamela software. SAR has the characteristics (it shares with some other sensors born in the 80's as CAT-scanners and NMR imaging) that the hardware does only half of the job and the other half is done by calculus. Raw signal from the electrical device, though it contains all the information, is completely obscure for a human eye. |
software install guideThe pamela software download and installation instruction. Note that download requires prior authorisation (password request to be send to the above electronic mail address, see explanations on the page). |
