Building jtalk from the sources

You need the loudmouth <URL: http://developer.imendio.com/wiki/Loudmouth >,
readline <URL: http://cnswww.cns.cwru.edu/php/chet/readline/rltop.html > and
PCRE <URL: http://www.pcre.org/ > lobraries.

If you need special compile flags, or if you want to change the target
directories, change the variables at the top of the Makefile.

Type make.

Installing jtalk

Type make install.

If you have changed the relative locations of BINDIR and FRONTEND_DIR, or if
you have strange symbilic links in-between, you may need to fix the symbolic
link $(BINDIR)/jtalk.

Rationale: relative symbolic links (../libexec/jtalk/jtalk_rl) are better
than absolute symbolic links (/usr/local/libexec/...) in such a case because
they stay valid when the directories are moved/copied/remounted as a whole.
But there is no simple way in shell to convert an absolute path into a
relative path.

Binary relocation

All jtalk binaries (jtalkd and front-ends) can work independently of any
other jtalk-related system file (they still need their shared libraries, of
course).

For the front-end selection using the $JTALK_FRONTEND variable, each
front-end need to know the base directory of the front-ends. This directory
is hardcoded in the binaries; it can be overridden by the
$JTALK_FRONTEND_DIR variable.
