Who am I?

My name is Eric Vindimian, I have been working for almost twenty years in the environmental public research and expertise in France.

This macro is a long story. It began at the Institut Pasteur in the laboratory for pharmacology. At this time I developped it to calculate binding parameters of Serotonin to synaptosomal receptors. Then at the Centre d'études et de recherche en chimie organique appliquée from CNRS where I worked at my thesis, I wanted to calculate the complex binding mechanism of gentamicin to bacterial ribosome. Then I began working at the Cemagref in Lyon, ecotoxicology laboratory where I improved the system having the chance to benefit from a large calculation facilities (a Vax calculator). When the Vax retired my colleagues alerted me : « your software is going to die ». I grabbed the Fortran sources and worked at home (my work now does not allow time for computation during day time!) building an Excel macro. A contract with the French ministry for environment helped me going further, sharing experience with colleagues and setting up this web site.

I work at the ministry for environment
