I am an evolutionary biologist, doing mostly theoretical work. My current research projects are on COVID-19 and on gene drive.
Previously, I worked on other projects in evolutionary epidemiology, evolutionary ecology, and social evolution; I am also interested in meta-science topics. My publications are listed on a separate page.
I am a CNRS senior scientist (directrice de recherche) at the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Sciences, hosted at Sorbonne Université in Paris.
I am currently in charge of a team of PIs called “EPIC” (Evolution of populations and interactions in the face of environmental changes; I did not choose the name), in the Evolutionary Ecology department of our institute.
My family name is Débarre. It is not DeBarre, nor Debarré. In French, the letter “e” at the end of a word is silent.
My first name is Florence; I also go by Flo.
