The lay of the last road
Out from the sky
I am leaving out for the Sea.
Thou ast my Lord, O Aėrendil !
Behold ! As this is the end of our lives
And the beginning of our doom.
Listen to the lay of the Exiles
For this is the last Tale thou wilst hear.
Once upon a day,
When all was fair and lied in beauty...
There was an island with cliffs and rocks
With forests and lakes and moutains in snow.
This was the fall and golden and brown were the leaves.
The fathers of Men were there, singing in the gardens.
Nirnaeth Aegolad, arnor ar ithil laėth...
Thus was the mourning of the Firstborns
As they were feeling the downfall of their world...
And now I wilst have my last journey,
Beyond any hope and beyond any love.
Stay on the shore my dear and beloved Elanorendulė !
Out from the sky
I am leaving out for the Sea
For ever !
